Saudi Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (SSOMS)

September 17, 2020

On the 26th July 2020 Mr Lee was invited to teach on the SSOMS, Comprehensive course of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery sharing his experiences on the use of patient specific implants for orbital reconstructions.

Due to restrictions imposed by the global COVID-19 pandemic on travel and the need for social distancing this was the very first virtual meeting that Mr Lee has been invited to with over 500 worldwide participants logging in to his presentation.

Over the last 9 years Mr Lee has been working collaboratively with Mr Salvi, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with a regular Joint Orbital Trauma Clinic managing complex orbital pathologies. Complex congenital and acquired deformities of the facial skeleton are a known 3-dimensional challenge for reconstructive surgeons. Post traumatic orbital reconstructions are a particular challenge and the use of patient specific implants is a valuable addition.
